I think the reason why a lot of “geek” guys foam at the mouth over “fake geek girls” comes from the same place as the Nice Guy Syndrome. 

A lot of guys in geek culture like to feed into the fallacy that the reason they can’t get laid is because girls are turned off by their interests. I imagine it’s jarring for them when they come across women who are interested in the same things, and yet these women still don’t want to fuck them. 

I picture them saying to themselves:

“WhhhAAt ThEre iS gIRl wIth b00Bs wh0 liKE cOMicS?!?!?!

AnD she tHInks I aM GROSS?!?!?!

IS IT MAYBE BECAUSE I HAVE BAD HYGIENE, A PISS POOR SENSE OF HUMOR, I’M LAZY AND BORING, AND I VIEW ALL WOMEN AS EMOTIONLESS SEMEN RECEPTACLES INSTEAD OF AS HUMAN BEINGS?

NEVER!”
